Bio: Phanatic(al) Phillies Phan and huge Steelers fan. I live in the foothills of the Pocono Mtns., but lived about 10 years in Tacoma, WA, which will always be home in my heart. My profile image is my precious, best friend "Little D" or "Doc"--a Pembroke Corgi who I lost May 30, 2015. I still can't bear to change the picture. I have been disabled with lumbar and cervical spine problems since 1986. I was fortunate to be able to get off meds and return to work twice when I was lucky to find a surgeon who would actually help me. Most of my experiences in dealing with pain specialists and surgeons have been awful. I am now 61 and in worse shape than ever after a neurosurgeon/OR staff pulled my arms back WAY too hard when doing my last cervical surgery almost 2 years ago. I now have permanent injuries in both shoulders that no one will do anything about because of the amount of metal in my neck. They won't put a tube down my throat to do an arthroscopic and find out what's wrong, let alone fix the problems. As you may have noticed, I joined WordPress in 2012 but never got my blog started! I couldn't decide what I wanted to write about. Of course, having 2 useless stimulators implanted and then learning afterwards that I had a serious problem in my neck requiring surgery (which the surgeon would have known if he had ordered updated tests rather than relying on tests that were 3-4 years old), all kept me offline for awhile. Even now it's difficult to stay online long typing, no matter what device I use. So....After a few years, I think I finally know what I want to blog about--people living in chronic pain and the treatment we receive--or should I say--DON'T receive. Boy, could I share some interesting stories! I hope you will add yours, too.
